The Hotel Bel-Air is a convenient, upscale home away from home for the stars – but all that luxury does not come cheap.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's former nanny, Christine Ouzounian, was comfortably holed up in the extravagant hotel from at least July 29 to Aug. 4, in an apparent attempt to keep a low profile amid rumors of an affair with her famous ex-employer – rumors which Affleck continues to deny.
Based on the length of Ouzounian's stay, and factoring in meals and amenities, a Hotel Bel-Air source conservatively estimates the 28-year-old's expenses at a cool $12,100.
That number would certainly put a strain on the budget of the average out-of-work nanny, but a source tells PEOPLE that Affleck, who's been known to use the hotel as an escape for himself in the past, is "taking care of Christine's expenses." Another source close to the actor contends, however, that he "did not cover the Bel-Air bill. You would not find his card there, plain and simple."
Her room alone, a junior bungalow suite, runs $1,500 a night plus tax – putting her six-night stay in the neighborhood of $10,400 just for accommodations.
Accounting for meals, many of which she was spotted taking at Wolfgang Puck's eponymous restaurant at the hotel – where a source says she was likely treating her friends to food and drinks – that tab would run around $200 a day on the low end, or $1,200 for the week.
Ouzounian also took advantage of the hotel's spa during her stay, with two visits to the facility appearing on her bill, the hotel source confirms. With each treatment averaging 60 minutes, the charge comes to $250 per trip (or $500 total) including tip.
Regardless of whether Affleck is footing the bill, an eyewitness tells PEOPLE that "Christine is enjoying her hotel stay," adding that "she acts like she is on vacation. She has been spotted by the pool several times, the spa and Wolfgang Puck's restaurant. She seems relaxed and happy. She hangs out with girlfriends, reads magazines and is on her phone a lot."
A friend of Ouzouzian claims to PEOPLE that the ex-nanny and Ben "are in touch every day, all day long. He got them phones just for each other."
After Affleck and Garner's June 30 split, their former nanny told friends that she and Affleck slept together, as detailed in this week's PEOPLE cover story, and sources close to Garner also say the two had a fling.
Meanwhile, sources close to Affleck tell PEOPLE that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star had only a "work relationship and a friendship" with the blonde, adding, "Ben's friendly, but it's not always meant to be flirty."
Ouzounian told friends that she and Affleck had romantic rendezvous at the Hotel Bel-Air starting this spring, sources have told PEOPLE.
Ouzounian's friend says that the ex-nanny is "doing well" and that she said of Affleck, "He trusts me."
