Iggy Azalea On Her GQ MOTY Award: "I Can Finally Say I Have An Award Winning Vagina"

GQ Woman of the Year Iggy Azalea demonstrated her sense of humour in tonight's GQ Men of the Year acceptance speech for her GQ Woman of the Year award.

Rapper, actress and director Iggy opted for a short, sweet and funny speech that made oblique reference to mainstream media's objectification of women.

"Thank you so much. I didn't realise everyone was going to have such hilarious speeches and I didn't prepare anything this week. I just want to give a big thank you to GQ for this award. I've won a lot of awards over the last few years, but this one means the absolute most to me because I can finally say I have an award winning vagina. Thank you."

Whilst the joke went over the heads of many seated in The Ivy ballroom in Sydney, Iggy's speech was a private joke with herself that she elaborates upon in the GQ MOTY issue on sale tomorrow.

She explains herein: "I'm excited [about my award]. I like to call it 'Vagina of the Year' though. I don't know why it cracks me up, I just think it's funny to reduce myself down to a vagina sometimes. 'Vagina of the Year' is a big achievement, number one Australian pussy. People won't get the joke, but it's funny because [in the media] women are reduced to vaginas. Some days I'm a vagina, others I'm a human."

Well Iggy, you are one hundred per cent more than just a vagina - you are a talent and Australia are proud of you. You have taken on the virulent misogyny in the rap industry ("women can't rap!") and that is a testament to your grit. And that makes you more of a human being than anyone who tries to reduce women to the worth of their genitals.
